On the Farm with Family

Allison and I spent a few days on a farm with my relatives on Saturday and Sunday. We checked out the horses, more horses and even the miniature horses. They also have chickens, ducks, cows, dogs, cats. The baby chicks were so cute and we each held one for a photo.

We enjoyed some farm-fresh eggs as well as delicious french toast. We went for a walk mid morning but even then the bugs were bad. As a farm girl – I noticed how much standing water they have all over and you can see how many fields had been adversely affected by the excess rain. The number of bugs was much more than “usual” I was told as well.

In the afternoon, Allison and I went for a ride on the wagon pulled by the miniature horses. First she got to drive and then I took a turn. What fun that was. They move surprisingly fast for having such little legs.

In the evening we went Geocaching and found a cache only 1.5 miles from their house. The boys are hooked and want to do it all summer. 😉

What a wonderful visit. I thank Lori and her family for their gracious hospitality.
Having a good time!
